What To Expect In Your First Camping Trip
Wondering what to expect on your first camping trip? The truth is, there are many different kinds of campers and for each kind, the first camping trip will be a little different.
Many people think that camping is just sleeping, eating and sitting around a fire. It’s so much more than that! There are so many little things to do and figure out on your first camping trip.
What you need, Who to bring and What to pack
Camping is one of the great outdoor activities to be enjoyed at once with your family or a friend and it is also something that you can enjoy in your lifetime.
No doubt that camping can be an exciting event for many people for various reasons but there are those who may find it a bit confusing on what to expect in their first camping trip.
Here we will try to shed light on some uncomplicated yet practical tips on how to make the most out of this leisure activity.
If you are new to the world of camping, then you may be nervous about what to expect. There is a lot to learn about how to go camping, but as long as you follow these simple tips, you will have a great time.
Tent camping
Firstly, Camp in a Tent and don’t sleep outside. Tent camping can be a good time if you are prepared. It’s a great way to avoid yourself being seen by animals and getting crawled over while you sleep outdoors.
And don’t forget to research the area where you plan on going camping. Find out if there are bears or other animals that live in the area.
If there are known predators in the area, it would be best to bring along bear repellent spray or a gun just in case an encounter occurs.
Check out the Weather Report
Secondly, It is also a good idea to check the weather forecast before departing on your trip so you know what type of clothing and gear to bring with you.
With so many different types of camping gear available for purchase, it can be hard for the novice camper to know where to start.
The first thing most people think about when it comes to equipment is their tent.
You want to make sure that your tent is waterproof and large enough for all of the people who will be sleeping in it and their belongings.
Make sure that your sleeping bag is warm enough for the weather conditions at night.
Tent Selection
Third, At the most basic level, there are three types of tents – dome tents, cabin tents, and lean-to tents.
Dome tents are often recommended by experts because they are spacious and easy to set up.
Cabin tents are very similar in design to dome tents except that they feature a pyramid-shaped roof instead of a dome-shaped roof.
Lean-to type shelters feature two poles with noticeably angled ends that meet at the top of the shelter to form an “A” shape.
Once you’ve figured out which type best suits your needs, it’s time to pick out the specifics.
The number of people who will be using the tent is one factor that should be considered when choosing a tent because every person adds another weight stress on the structure of the tent and increases the potential for wear.
In addition, the floor area in different sized tents differs so pick wisely.
I have put an Amazon link below where you can choose what type of tent you want to get, there are various designs and sizes you can choose from.
Stock Up on Supplies
Lastly, You can never have too much food or water while camping. It’s always good to have a little bit more than what you think you need because there is nothing worse than running out of food on the second day of your camping trip.
Camping is so much fun and really relaxing, but it can also be a bit overwhelming. Imagine being in the great outdoors and having to pitch a tent, start a fire, go to the bathroom, find food, and repel animals before they attack!
